This is a team-taught, integrated class between animation and art history. Designed for first year students, weekly lectures and discussions on the history of animation will be paired with studio experiences where students will create animation projects. As a survey of world animation from its early history through current day, the studio projects will provide a necessary parallel experience where students will stand in the shoes of earlier animators to understand the approaches, conceptual, aesthetic and technical of animators from diverse backgrounds.
