Completes the development of student work into a unique comics portfolio that is visually and verbally accomplished. Capstone II is the second half of a year-long process of individual artistic exploration and production as well as immersive research, process-oriented writing, and peer feedback. In this course, students will breakdown, thumbnail, sketch and complete the final artwork for their capstone project: a cohesive and original comic narrative in either a single narrative or several narratives of no less than 25 pp. in total length. Emphasis is placed on inventive and professional-level narrative, illustration, layout, color, and lettering skills. Students will engage in collaborative peer feedback, workshopping the visual and verbal elements of their comic, revising at every step. Additionally, students will create a marketing plan and engage in professional outreach.
