COMC3042 - Comics and Narrat Illustration II
Builds on the pre-requisite Comics and Narrative Illustration I using the same interdisciplinary team-taught method of Illustration and Liberal Arts instructive collaboration, creative studio projects, assigned readings and essays. This course joins the fundamental competencies of CNI I with new skills and critical thinking and applies them to a wider range of projects, styles, methods and materials, including mini-comics, web comics, experimental forms and the use of color. Projects are more student-designed with an emphasis on the innovative use of narrative and visual storytelling in both short and longer self-contained works. Students enrich their understanding of historical precedents, literary concepts and the contemporary comics landscape.
